Great picture of Sam Dickinson in the Birmingham Post review of the game - and great comments on his ability - one of Roth's finest exports! Just hope to see him playing in the Prem soon - a class act as a player and a person!

Special offer for any Titans fans travelling to Cornwall this weekend. My family sponsor Toby Freeman and The Cornish Candy Shoppe in Helston - about 10 miles from Penzance - is the family business. Get your Christmas shopping done early with Cornish Fudge, Trenance handmade chocolates, including chocolate Cornish Pasties, every sweet you can ever remember from being a kid, and lots of new ones too. Elis will make up bags and boxes of any sweets you fancy and if you contact her before the weekend, will even deliver them to the game! With 10% off all purchases of £10 or over, we hope you'll call in and see a traditional sweet shop - and try some of the free tasters that are always on offer - new ones get chosen each Monday. And say hi to the family for us as we can't get down there this weekend as someone at British Airways decided to change our holiday flights!! :(

Titans Chat / Re: Latest from the lane (Bristol)
« on: October 07, 2012, 04:19:44 PM »
Took my brother and family yesterday and while they were keen to see the game (as they are sponsors of Toby Freeman and supporters of the adopted Cornishman, Mr Nonu) it was interesting to see it from their viewpoint. The only other games they have seen have been down at Pirates as they live down there, and the main comment was from the kids - no sweets on sale or anything really to tempt them to spend their pocket money. So half time especially meant a long wait with not much to interest them. A can of pop was all we could manage to find. They loved the rugby - especially being able to see it close up, and the fact they could wander onto the pitch at the end and talk to the players, but if it had been a wet day I don't think an eight year old girl, complete with toy lemur from Yorkshire Wildlife Park, would have lasted the whole game. (Now YWP really do market well to kids and families....)
So what do we need to do? If we go beyond the die hard fans we have to look at a better experience, especially in terms of families. The nephew would have loved to see a mini-junior game at half time - what happened to them?

Think we need a new word in the Roth dictionary......

Nonued (pronounced Non - oood)

Their Number 9 certainly felt he'd been Nonued and I don't think he'll be the only one this year! Flattened, lost the ball and out for the count for a good while - they even checked his head was still on his shoulders - Pale is awesome!

Titans Non-Playing / Re: So who are we sponsoring next season then
« on: July 02, 2012, 03:44:35 PM »
Pale already has a sponsor apparently - I asked when trying to get a replacement for Sam Dickinson - the niece and nephew were keen as he is an honorary Cornishman.

Instead we have gone for Toby Freeman as he comes from Cornwall - hope he enjoys old fashioned sweets and Cornish fudge as their mum owns the Cornish Candy Shoppe in Helston - http://www.cornishcandyshop.com/

Pop in when you go down to Penzance - always a discount for a Rotherham supporter!

Just hope it is a bit drier up there than down here!

There were more than 7! My neice and nephew were there too - sponsors of Sam, so technically that is 2 more, plus their dad, although I have to say their mum is a Pirate - she was born in Helston so I suppose I have to give her that!

Championship Chat / Cover It Live at Donny
« on: November 05, 2011, 03:41:46 PM »
Donny are using a web site link called www.coveritlive.com to update what is happening in a fair bit of detail - with some photos, although they are a long way from the pitch. Looks like a good idea and the guy doing it said on rolling maul that he'd train up people interested to do this at other clubs - could be an idea?

Yep - it's Bunny who 'retired' at the end of last season with Sheffield Tigers and then came back again a few matches into this one. Great to see him still playing.
