Please send our best wishes to Brian - I have known him for a long time - I especially remember a great Shakespearean performance at Roche Abbey.

Wishing you a speedy recovery Brian, and thinking of you and your family.

General Rugby / Heineken Cup Final Tickets
« on: April 19, 2011, 04:47:00 PM »
I have 2 tickets for the final, 21st May in Cardiff and now can't go. I'd like the tickets to go to genuine rugby fans not some corporate bod who doesn't know good rugby when he sees it. The tickets are good ones, in L19, row 18 close t the action not stuck up in the top of the stand, and cost me £60 each. Anyone from the Forum interested at this price? Send me a mesage and I'll arrange to hand them over.

Hampsey limped off at Bees on that nightgame there and did not look good. Haven't seen him around since, but at least it's given Swatkins a chance to show what he can do.

Got to go back a way for this one - Paul Scott - one of the greats in the early days, scored lots of tries and one claim to fame was tackling Wade Dooley and bringing him to the floor when we played Fylde over on the Lancashire coast. Great guy and still there at Roth games as a spectator. Go Scotty!

Agree with Kev - we lived with Worcester that day - and at times I think we scared them too - and if we can recapture that form and attitude, I think we can beat anyone, home or away - just need the cnfidence to do it - and ome decent throwing at the line out - that's what has cost us so much this season. Is it so difficult??

Like Tony Clabby I am biased as my neice and nephew (and I) sponsor Sam, but even if he belonged to someone else, I would have to nominate him for always being there at the right time and place - he makes monster hits all over the park, he willingly takes the ball up whenever it's needed and spends so much time at the bottom of rucks and mauls that I'm not suprised at the amount of tape holding him together, nor that he gets hurt like on saturday as he's always willing to put his body on the line. His work rate is awesome, he's always looking to go forwards and in the chaos that is currently our line out, can often be relied on to catch the wretched ball if it is actually thrown to him. My neice and nephew (6 and 8) think he's awesome and he's been brilliant with them, especially when they went to their 'home' match in Penzance - I'm trying hard to make sure they don't turn into mini pirates! Dual purpose or multi purpose forward - he's a star and I just hope he's staying next year. Hopefully the sweets and fudge they send him regularly from their mum's sweet shop may swing the deal!

And 2 more - and since I don't want to come home via Tamworth and Derby again, will check M42 but as far I was aware, it wasn't mentioned when we went down last week...

Can they manage a lineout that might actually be straight? Since we seem to have taken the same blind linesman on the bus we had on saturday, looks like no one will spot it.

We were there and I don't agree with Richard Hill!

Our pack were superb, and their supporters were saying to us that we had them beaten up front. They weren't expecting our lads to be so strong in the scrum as they reckon they have some good players in their pack. One said 'we have premier league facilities and this is a premier league team' - and Roth made them sweat for most of the game. Just wish we could find a way to get the ball out to our backs a bit more and get them some space to run as I think Swatkins in particular would have given their wingers a hard time, one on one. We nearly pinched it - but travelling down we all said we'd settle for a bonus point, and a second one for four tries was so close a couple of times. Take Andy Goode out of it and we might have been there! High penalty count won't make Mr B happy, and is Goode kicks like that at Clifton Lane, anything inside their half could be on - he lives up to his name.

To say this is game 3, and Andre said we wouldn't gell till Christmas, what are they going to be like when he's happy with them!

Couldn't really pick a man of the match - has to be the whole pack who never gave up.

Their upporters left us with the comment - 'see you in the playoffs' - I think they could be right.

Titans Chat / Re: Bristol v Donny
« on: September 08, 2010, 08:11:14 PM »
Went to watch Donny v Mose on Friday and on the basis of that, Donny haven't a prayer. It wasn't a good game - lots of sideways pick & drive and nobody really trying to create anything. Apart from Donny's No.11, who finally got a pass and showed how fast he can be, I can't remember any other flowing move. Mose had their usual big pack, rumbled over from a line out for a couple of tries but most of their backs will get frostbite later on this season as they never see a ball. Only 800 or so bothered to go - and we'll think twice before going again. As someone else said, what a waste of a great ground.
