Some great observations, particularly from Winger14.
On a personal level, I can’t see any future at all, which makes me very despondent.
But as someone said earlier, this has been on the cards for several seasons.

I didn't really have much to say after the Jersey game as we were simply outclassed in virtually every department. A few players stood out to me but the vast majority are just not up to championship quality or are not putting in the effort for some reason ?! Hearing Nic Rouse have to shout 'Energy' to the pack before the game suggests to me we mentally lost the game before it even started and mentally I think we are already relegated unless some biblical changes happen before London Scottish. I don't think Andy is the problem as said before our last 2 coaches who lost their jobs are now successful again which indicates to me that our club is the problem not the coaches.

After reading the match report it feels like we are giving up, maybe our time has come to an end maybe it hasn't but if it has then surely as 'Professional Sportsmen / coaches representing the mighty Roth we want to go out fighting and draw some blood?!'

There seems to be a negative atmosphere around the club which has been building for the last few seasons. Probably since the London backer came in and changed our name.

i'm a big believer in human psychology and as a player am I going to put my body on the line for 'Rotherham Titans' a proud, close knit, tough town in South Yorkshire or 'Titans' a myth ?

I sincerely hope it's not over but it certainly feels like it with no direction coming from the club.

Welcome back Lone Ranger, its been 18 months since your last post, I thought you'd rode off into the sunset with Tonto.

It's right what you have said, but let's hope that if we are relegated, we settle out no lower than National League One, then the RFU increase the Championship to 14 teams, therefore doubling our chances of getting back up.

I'm the eternal optimist.

Gents I hear your pain. Just to put my comments in context, I’ve not seen roth play this season, and due to living 2 hours away with a young family the last few years have only seen 3 or 4 games per season, but have supported roth since for 23 year since their first nat. 4 season. Anyway, I have feared for 2 months now that we baring miracles would find ourselves in nat 1, without a big money backer as Donny did to bounce straight back. This may then roll on to mean that without the current rfu handout our other income streams mean we settle down a few divisions lower than we are now. We have lived from our reputation of developing players, being a spring board for the premier or pro 14, but without champ std player retention year on year, and to do this you need a certain level of money it can’t and won’t last forever. From reading comments on the board, it appears that losing our better players again and recruiting lower league players has meant we have just haven’t been competitive. The results speak for themselves. So I will try and get a game or 2 this year but now expect roth to go down and then where we settle out in the leagues is a big unknown and the funding is completely different. Come on roth show our spirit of old.

Without doubt the squad needs its Re-fresh button pressing.   Time to bring in some more players on Loan or DR. There must be Prem Clubs who want their young lads to get some game time.  Leicester or Wasps for example.
At times, some of our players on Saturday looked as though they didn't want to be on the field.  The pressure of this losing run is undoubtedly  getting to them.
We can now have up to 10 loans/dr's in a match day squad, I'm not saying we should go for that many but the time has now come to try something different.  What have we got to lose.
I've no idea what financial cost this would be for the Club, but desparate times need desperate action.

Believe me Jim its not just you, I've probably disagreed with every bugger, and every bugger's disagreed with me, at some time or other.  But that's part of posting on a Forum, before or after Mr Jameson's.

It's not over 'til the fat lady sings, but....
IF we are relegated, presumably we will train on an evening, but where??? We don't have floodlights and Phoenix train at Herringthorpe.  How are the club going to support two amateur teams?

Bester did bring a buzz to the club, but so did Lee!
We’ve certainly had quite a ride over the last three decades, just a shame it’s ending like this.

I agree entirely Kev - my comments about Bester were simply a frustrated cry in the dark!

However, for me the Bester years were the most exciting we've ever enjoyed as a pro club. His 'finds' were true gems and he was a great character. Fortress Clifton Lane was exactly that. Shame the Directors couldn't see beyond what ever it was that upset them because we have been on a slippery slope ever since he left. There have been very few new recruits of the standard that he brought to the table and we don't seem to have any strong leadership - from anyone!

We will be relegated that's for sure and as you rightly say it's hard to imagine what the club will look like next season. At the moment there seems no fight left to stay at this level and I suspect those in charge have had their fill. You can't blame them - they have given us a good ride and (had) built up a good supporter base considering our primitive ground. Now that support has dwindled in line with the performance on the field and in reality it's time for one of the hungry teams in Nat 1 to take our place.
